ABOUT
Hi! Welcome to my page. If you're here, you've likely already encountered me in some capacity whether it be in person, through a mutual friend, The Afterwords Show or some other means of networking. You probably already know a little bit about me, but here's some more:
I am a proud Buffalo, New York native and a multifaceted practitioner in the fields of communications, end-of-life care, wellness, and justice reform. I am a certified death doula, funeral celebrant, trauma-informed care facilitator, life coach, and mindfulness and meditation practitioner. I currently serve as a Juvenile Justice Policy Advisor for the City of New Orleans, where I bring nearly a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, government, and justice reform.
I hold degrees in Communications, Media, Film and Political Science from Howard University and Nonprofit Management and Public Administration from Buffalo State University. I proudly sit on the educational committee of the Louisiana-Mississippi Hospice & Palliative Care Organization, advocating for more culturally centered, holistic end-of-life care.
Following the loss of my father, I founded a nonprofit organization offering trauma-informed, holistic services such as yoga, meditation, and group healing for youth and adults. This deeply personal experience catalyzed my own healing and spiritual journey and continues to guide my mission: to support others in rebuilding after loss and navigating life’s most difficult transitions.
I recently launched The Afterwords, a podcast and consulting agency dedicated to helping people memorialize their lives, legacies, and loved ones through intentional conversation and storytelling. As a transition specialist, I'm able to help individuals move through grief, identity shifts, and personal transformation, empowering them to reimagine life on the other side of loss.
My work is deeply rooted in values of culture, spirituality, and restoration, reflecting a commitment to mindfulness, cultural competence, trauma-informed care, and community healing. Whether in policy, practice, or direct service, I remain devoted to creating space for dignity, remembrance, and renewal.
I believe in the transformative powers of land healing and addressing past traumas for future success. That is why I take special pleasure in helping others craft their goals, shape their personal narrative and tell their stories.
